Speak Up for Libraries Postcard Campaign - You may have heard that Wisconsin is #1 in the U.S. in book borrowing per capita! The Institute for Museum and Library Services (IMLS) gets a big assist in making this possible by funding Interlibrary Loan Services (aka WISCAT); they support many other services as well. You may also have heard that IMLS funding is in jeopardy. IMLS funding comes to Wisconsin as a block grant from the federal government. Saving this funding will take some work. Our library system (IFLS) is coordinating a postcard campaign to let our federal representatives know how important this funding is in our everyday lives. Make your voice heard! Stop in anytime to fill out up to three postcards, one for each of our elected representatives. Your voice matters! We supply the postcards and stamps. You supply the library enthusiasm. A new indoor play area opened in Eau Claire recently. Read about it in this article by Volume One.
From the Dunn County Sheriff's Office Facebook page: The Wisconsin DMV allows you to list an emergency contact as part of your DMV record. It will not be on your driver’s license, but it will show in your record that law enforcement can see. If you are having an emergency, we will know immediately who to call rather than trying to search for those details. This will allow us to notify your listed contact in an emergency. This can be done online HERE.

Did you know that each month, the Raw Deal features the artwork of a different local artist? Stop by to check out this month's artist, Jane Nichol. Artwork will be up all month, and there will be a meet and greet with the artist on June 21 from 4-6 pm. Shared on Facebook.

The Pickleball for Menomonie Fund is here to grow the game in our community! This new fund supports the construction of two new courts and the resurfacing of existing courts - making play safer, smoother, and more accessible for all ages and skill levels.
Menomonie Pickleball is raising funds to resurface the existing courts alongside the City’s new court construction at Wakanda Park. The City of Menomonie is overseeing the project, and the Community Foundation of Dunn County is providing a secure way to donate. (From the CFDC Facebook page.)
To direct your gift to resurfacing:
Online: Write “Resurfacing” in the donation notes.
By check: Make it out to Community Foundation of Dunn County (800 Wilson Ave, Suite 235, Menomonie WI 54751) and write Pickleball Resurfacing in the memo.
Tree Planting Season is Underway! The City of Menomonie's Community Services department began planting trees this week, with more planting days planned throughout spring and fall. You’ll see new trees popping up along boulevards and in public parks across Menomonie!
Species being planted include: Canada Select Red Cherry, Little Leaf Linden, Sterling Silver Linden, St. Croix American Elm, Triumph Elm, Swamp White Oak, Japanese Tree Lilac, Autumn Splendor Buckeye, Sunburst Honeylocust, and Hackberry.
What's next?
Separate crews will return to water, mulch, and restore the planting areas. We're prioritizing getting the trees in the ground first, so thank you for your patience as we complete the process.

If you missed the Ludington Guard Band concert on Tuesday, you can watch a video recording of it HERE.
From the Dunn County Sheriff's Office: ROAD CLOSED MEANS ROAD CLOSED
Just a friendly but firm reminder: If you see a "ROAD CLOSED" sign, it’s not a suggestion, it’s the law. You may only drive through if you’re accessing a residence or business within the closed area. Using these roads as a shortcut is not only illegal, it’s dangerous. Violation could result in a $213 fine. You’re putting construction crews at serious risk. You could cause delays to the entire project. Let’s work together to keep everyone safe and get our roads fixed faster. Respect the signs, respect the workers, and drive smart.
