She developed an interest in genealogy and spent years tracing her and Walter’s heritage. Nancy extensively researched content for her stories and eventually wrote and self-published six books for young readers. Nancy also found inspiration as she and Walter traveled extensively throughout the US, combining their travels to see family and friends and to see the many interesting sites in all the states they visited.

Nancy is survived by her daughters, Teresa (Claire) Stein of Baldwin, Wisconsin, Wendy Bjornson (David Gonzales) of Portland Oregon and her son Jon (Joan) Bjornson of Fall River, Massachusetts. She is also survived by grandchildren, Steven Gerber, Sarah Weiske, Corey Stein and Elena Foley, 10 great grandchildren, one great, great granddaughter and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
