The Drums Along the Red Cedar (DARC) Youth Music Endowment Fund, managed by the Community Foundation of Dunn County (CFDC), makes more possible for local students by providing the opportunity to apply for scholarship funding to attend a summer music camp of their choice, up to $500.

One scholarship of up to $500 is awarded annually to a middle or high school music student in Dunn County to attend a music camp program of their choice. The camp must be for a specific music program, such as band, choir, jazz, percussion, voice, string, etc. Scholarships are paid directly to the camp unless otherwise approved by the CFDC.

  • Submit a completed Application Form to the Community Foundation by May 15th, annually.

  • Must have a current music instructor submit the Recommendation Form on their behalf by the deadline.

  • Include a brochure or other official information describing the camp program

  • Preference will be given to applicants with demonstrated financial need, as provided on the application form

About DARC

DARC was established in 2001 following a Drum Corps International (DCI) competition hosted in Menomonie from 2000–2009. The event brought the drum corps experience to Dunn County and generated proceeds that were placed into an endowed fund at the Community Foundation of Dunn County. Today, that fund continues to support music scholarships and music initiatives throughout the community.
