Muriel Rachel Evan passed away on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at the age of 95. She was born to Raymond & Myrtle Amundson on November 25, 1930, in Sheridan Township, on the family farm. In 1948, Muriel graduated from Prairie Farm High School and married Joseph John Evan on September 23, 1949. They were united at The Little Brown Church in the Vale, in Nashua, IA.
Joe & Muriel became lifelong members of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. Muriel was a Sunday School teacher and belonged to the Ladies Guild, for many years. She was employed by the Menomonie School District for approximately 20 yrs, working as Administrative Assistant.
Muriel always had a huge vegetable garden, and she was especially proud of her flower gardens growing all around the farm. Some of the many hobbies she loved were baking, cooking, and canning, and reading & playing cards.
Muriel is survived by her children; Joy (Bill) Keyes, Menomonie, WI. Joel Evan, River Falls. Jim (Terry) Evan & Family, Anacortes, WA. and Mark (Marci), Evan, Andover, MN. Grandchildren; Joe (Kate) Keyes, Kami (Adam) Cleveland, both of Menomonie. Marc (Sara) Evan, Lake Elmo, MN, and Emily Evan, Mankato, MN. Great Grandchildren; Peyton, Maxel & Lexi Keyes and Zoey Cleveland, and Hannah & Austin Evan; her sister, Joann Dehn. Also, many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Joseph Evan, sister, Ardith Clickner, and brothers, Duane, Buddy & Jim Amundson.
Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 9, 2026 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Boyceville, WI with Pastor Michael Penikis officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service with lunch to follow. Interment will take place at Tiffany Cemetery in Boyceville.
