Melissa J. Dobczyk

Melissa Jane Dobczyk, nee McCarthy, passed away peacefully on July 10, 2026, at the age of 71, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born on April 9, 1955, in Joliet, Illinois, Melissa was the daughter of Marcus McCarthy and Lorraine Spiers. She grew up alongside her siblings, Michael McCarthy, who preceded her in death in 1975, and her sister, Jacqueline Wiechec (nee McCarthy).

Melissa dedicated much of her career to caring for others, working in healthcare in both Illinois and Wisconsin. One of her favorite chapters in life was working at Watercolor Resort in Seaside, Florida, where she enjoyed the beauty and relaxed lifestyle of the Gulf Coast.

Melissa found happiness in life's simple pleasures. She loved putting together puzzles, riding her bike, cooking delicious meals for family and friends, and cheering on her favorite football and hockey teams. She had a special gift for making holidays feel magical, creating traditions and memories that her family will carry with them forever. Above all, Melissa loved spending time with the people she cherished most. Whether gathered with family or relaxing by the beautiful waters of Florida's scenic 30A, she was happiest making memories with those she loved.

Melissa is survived by her daughters, Rachel, Robbin, and Randi; her sister, Jacqueline Wiechec; her grandchildren, Tyler Trepanier and Ava Berg; and her beloved great-granddaughter, Clara Kent.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Marcus McCarthy and Lorraine Spiers, and her brother, Michael McCarthy. Melissa was formerly married to Robert (Bob) Dobczyk.

Melissa will be remembered for her kind heart, caring nature, unwavering love for her family, and her ability to make every holiday, gathering, and ordinary day feel a little more special. Her warmth, laughter, and love will continue to live on in the countless memories she leaves behind.

Though she will be deeply missed, her legacy of love, compassion, and family will remain in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
