During Murals in Menomonie, take a break from watching art being made, to talk with a local author.
Meet author Siphiwe Promise Mainjeni. She'll have books for sale and signing.
Her books:
The Umhlanga/Reed Dance Ceremony
The book is about Eswatini Maiden’s annual cultural ceremony. It equates to technical communication roles.
The whole ceremony and the arrangement of the maidens are similar to those of technical communication roles, and detailed information is written for ease of reference. The unique ceremony is Eswatini pride and is very helpful in instilling values in young maidens. People from all over the world visit Eswatini to watch the Umhlanga/Reed Dance Ceremony. The book is written by someone who once participated in the ceremony while she was a little girl. The writer explained a step by step trend the young maidens always participate yearly. Anyone reading the book will have knowledge of the true Eswatini culture and understand the meaning of the ceremony.
The Ethic of Healthy Living
The book outlines key principles and habits for healthy living that contribute to longevity. Emphasizing the importance of healthy eating, it advocates for a plant-based diet as a cornerstone of a longer life. The information provided encourages readers to make informed food choices by avoiding unhealthy options and embracing nutritious, plant-based foods.
Solo Missionary Trip to Africa
The author in the book emphasizes the importance of positive procedures used throughout this work, which incorporates the Christian Walk to be Christ-like in all undertakings—true discipleship and spreading the word of God before His Second Coming. One personal example is how to approach a faithful evangelistic walk in Jesus. The author used different ways to preach God’s word on solo mission trips. She shared how God helped her when she was on a solo missionary trip.
A Complacent Woman for All Seasons
The author wrote about how her mother, Mrs. Siyaphi Ngwenya, communicated a concise message to the community of Esinceni/Enceka to reach out for progressive evangelism while she was alive. The trend helped the community to grow and gain knowledge of the Seventh Day Adventist fundamental beliefs. She explained how her mother reached out collaboratively with her fellow “Dorcas’s ladies” and how Mrs. Siyaphi Ngwenya collaborated to achieve successful evangelism and church growth in the Enceka area. Mrs. Ngwenya’s voice echoed throughout the centuries through her work of evangelism.
