Martha Grundeman

Martha Idella Grundeman, age 92 passed away peacefully on January 17th, 2025 at Mayo Clinic Health System - Red Cedar in Menomonie.

She was born April 7, 1933, in Otter Creek township to Palmer and Mary Anderson. She grew up on the family farm in Sherman township, WI and attended school in Menomonie. Martha was employed with The Kernel and The Hotel Marion before spending more than 45 years with Sanna Dairy (ConAgra).

She lived most of her years on a farm on the outskirts of Menomonie with her partner of many years, Dale Long.

In her early years she worked very hard, but also enjoyed taking classes to learn how to belly dance. She enjoyed spending time with family, gardening, fishing, and her and Dale enjoyed going out to eat at many local restaurants. She was blessed with 4 children and enjoyed trips to visit family in and around Wisconsin as well as traveling to Texas, Iowa, and Oregon.

Throughout her life she spent many hours working in her yard, she loved planting flowers (but hated weeding!) and had an impressive collection of concrete yard ornaments.

In February of 2021, Martha moved into Comforts of Home in Menomonie and spent time with some wonderful friends and staff who she enjoyed many laughs with.

Martha will be incredibly missed but she will always be remembered for her sometimes-mischievous sense of humor.

She is preceded in death by her partner Dale Long, parents, Mary and Palmer Anderson, Son Ralph "Butch" Grundeman and siblings Victor Anderson, Louis Anderson, Arlen Anderson, Garry Anderson, Robert "Bob" Anderson, and Flora Bartz.

She is survived by her children, Betty Grundeman, Chuck Grundeman (Theresa Bowen), Kim (Warren) Booth, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.

The family would like to thank each of the care staff of Comforts of Home - Menomonie for all the loving care and support that they gave to mom over the years.

There will be a Celebration of Life held from 4:00-6:00 p.m. Thursday, January 22, 2026 at Olson Funeral Home.
