Kendra A. Kostman

Kendra Ann Kostman, age 78, of Boyceville, WI passed away peacefully at home March 9th, 2026 surrounded by loved ones.

Kendra was born June 1, 1947 to Theodore and Marjorie (Hill) Zielsdorf. She was a graduate of Glenwood High School, Glenwood City, WI.

After graduation Kendra went to work for St. Paul Fire and Marine in St Paul. Kendra met the love of her life Duane Kostman through a set-up by Kendra’s sister Marlene. Duane and Kendra were married on August 19, 1967. Kendra worked several places over the years: Hight Insurance Agency, Leon Berenschot Insurance Agency, McDonalds, Lammer’s Foods and Walgreen’s. She retired in 2012, and started her own business cleaning houses.

Kendra had many passions including baking, quilting and crocheting afghans. She took pride in all the quilts that she created and gave them as lasting gifts to her loved ones. Her favorite time was spent with her grandchildren, watching them play sports and attending all their events.

Kendra enjoyed her community involvement serving on the Board of Directors for the Boyceville Area Sno-Jammers and the Treasurer for Hearts and Hand Quilt Club. She spent many hours volunteering for United Methodist Church as well as a greeter once a month at Royal Credit Union.

Kendra is survived by her husband, Duane Kostman; children, Teresa (Dan) Harp, Todd (Missy) Kostman, and Troy Kostman; grandchildren, Tori Kostman, Karly (Joe) Kostman-Moore, Tyra Kostman and Bryce Kostman. She is further survived by brothers, Harland Zielsdorf, and Duane “Dope” (Deb) Zielsdorf; sister-in-law, Lois Gwinn, and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Ted and Marjorie Zielsdorf, Elmer and Blonda Kostman; siblings, Donna Rae Zielsdorf, Marlene Koonst, Rose Osborne, and Marvin Zielsdorf; in-laws, Jerry Osborne, Carl Koonst, Ilene Zielsdorf, Rita Zielsdorf, and Francis Gwinn; and infant nephew Ethan Zielsdorf.

Funeral services will be held on Friday March 13, 2026 at Trinity Lutheran Church, In Boyceville, WI with Pastor Brad Peterson officiating. Visitation at 10:00, service at 11:00 with a light luncheon to follow. Burial will take place at a later date at Forest Hill Cemetery in Knapp.
