The University of Minnesota Morris has announced that Keebtxuj Xiong, of Menomonie, has been selected to receive the Morris Scholars Award. Â
Â
Morris Scholars receive a $28,000 scholarship package, disbursed evenly over four years, plus a one-time $2,500 scholarship stipend that may be used during their second, third, or fourth year at UMN Morris to engage in an eligible scholarly experience (e.g., study abroad, research or artistic projects, travel to academic conferences).Â
Â
Keebtxuj had already been offered admission to the University of Minnesota Morris and was eligible for the scholarship based on his high academic achievement in high school.
He was selected following an interview conducted by at least two UMN Morris faculty, staff, or alumni as part of the campus's Community of Scholars event, held December 5, 2025.
Â
The University of Minnesota Morris has been named one of the 50 best liberal arts institutions in the U.S. by Money magazine. University Business magazine further cited UMN Morris as a standout for affordability, ranking it at the top for lowest average full cost after grants.
