James G. Treadwell, age 92, of Menomonie, WI, passed away Friday, June 12, after a long and prosperous life.

James was born April 25, 1934, in Madison, WI, to Charles Treadwell and Verona Koberstein. He grew up in the Madison area and graduated from Central Senior High School.

James, known to many as Jim, married Arlyn Scheifel on November 27, 1965, at St. Patrick’s Church in Madison, WI. Shortly thereafter, they moved to Menomonie, where Jim began his long career with the University of Wisconsin–Stout. While living in Menomonie, Jim and Arlyn raised two sons, Timothy and Thomas.

Jim was an avid outdoorsman, but his true passion was fishing — and he was good at it. He was a longtime member of the Dunn County Fish & Game Club and also participated in the local Red Cedar Bassmaster’s club.

Jim lived a full and prosperous life, owing in part to a long career as an Electronics Technician at UW–Stout, as well as his many talents at home. He rebuilt his entire home numerous times and spent countless hours on woodworking and other hands-on projects.

Jim will be greatly missed for his willingness to help, his practical skills, and his gift for always having time to talk.
