James Edgar “Jed” Dimock, 57, of Menomonie, Wisconsin, passed away at his home on Sunday, February 8, 2026, after a prolonged and fierce battle with cancer. After retiring from the Navy and returning to Menomonie, James continued his life of service with the Menomonie Lions, eventually becoming District Governor of MD27-E2, in west central Wisconsin. He was proud of both his military service and his service to the Menomonie Lions, especially his involvement with the Lions’ vision program in the schools.
James especially enjoyed computers, the latest technology, reading, bingo, his family and friends, his cats Mémé and Piston, and helping others.
He is survived by his mother Muriel Dimock (Jan Reeser), Red Wing, MN, his father Richard (Marie) Dimock, Florence, KY, sisters Amity Dimock, St. Paul, MN and Angelica Dimock, Minneapolis, MN, niece, Sophie Garcia, St. Paul, MN, and his long-term friend Emelda Zuschlag, of Arlington, VA.
