Irene Wagner, age 94 years, passed away on May 9, 2026 at Colfax Assisted Living Center in Colfax, WI. Irene was born to Mathias and Eva Lauchart on April 27, 1932 in Milwaukee, WI.
She was loving sister to Dale, Herman, and Elizabeth.
Irene was preceded in death by her husband Edward A. Wagner, her son Stephen J. Kissler, multiple relatives and friends, as well as her ex-husband Albert K. Kissler.
She is survived by her daughter Sandra L. (Frank) Poska, and her grandson Frank A. Poska.
Irene worked for 30 years at MPS in the Milwaukee School Board / Art Department. After retiring she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She traveled throughout the United States via bus tours exploring multiple US landmarks and had fun visiting casinos across the country. She also loved collecting dolls and themed Knick Knacks
After her husband Edward passed away, she moved to Steeple View Retirement apartments. She continued to enjoy tours both remote and local, going on multiple trips with her friends at Steeple View.
In 2010, Irene went to Menomonie, WI to care for her son Stephen, prior to his passing. Her grandson Frank joined her in Menomonie to help her care for his uncle (and cats), and help maintain his uncle's house. Even though that was a very sad time, Irene grew to love Menomonie. She loved the community so much that In 2014 she moved from Steeple View to Menomonie. Her final years were in Menomonie WI where she spent cherished time with the new friends she met.
Irene was a very special lady. Words that describe Irene are loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was energetic, always active, very caring, always ready to help anyone in need. Her time on earth may have ended, but she continues to live on in her family's and friend's hearts. She will be missed.
A private family gathering will be held at graveside after her burial. In lieu of cards or flowers please make donations to Dementia Society of America in memory of Irene B. Wagner.
