Helping young children manage their feelings can be rough. To support those working on the front lines of childcare, UW–Madison Extension and Thriving Wisconsin are hosting a hands-on workshop this May.
The workshop, titled "Emotion Regulation in Action," is designed for local teachers and daycare providers. Attendees will walk away with simple, science-based tools to help kids stay calm, build confidence, and navigate "big emotions" throughout the day.
“Every day, childcare providers help children navigate big feelings,” says Luisa Gerasimo, Dunn County’s Family Engagement and Relationships Educator. “This workshop gives our hard-working local educators proven strategies to create a calmer, more supportive environment for kids.”
Why Attend?
Practical Skills: Learn exactly how emotional skills develop and how to coach kids.
Networking: Connect with other childcare professionals in Northwest Wisconsin to share ideas and support.
Registry Credits: Participants can earn 5 Registry Credits for their professional development.
Low Cost: The $20 registration fee includes a full day of learning, handouts and a catered lunch.
