Gloria A. Ziehl

Gloria Welch Ziehl passed away Tuesday, February 3, 2026 at The American Lutheran Home in Menomonie, WI.

She was born October 19, 1934 in Bloomer, WI to Elfrieda and Aloysius Anderl.

She married Ronald Welch on May 12, 1955. Together they raised eight children in Menomonie, WI. Together the family enjoyed camping, fishing, boating and spending time with family.

After Ronald passed, she married Larry Ziehl in Menomonie, WI on November 28, 1987.

Gloria was a very kind and compassionate woman. Her time was devoted to her children, grandchildren, friends and other family members. You could always see a smile on her face and a light in her eye.

Gloria is survived by two daughters, Victoria Baine of Menomonie, WI and Cheryl Olson of Boston, Massachusetts, three sons, Kenneth Welch (Joann) of New Richmond, WI, Michael Welch of Menomonie, WI and Anthony Welch of Salis, Mississippi. She is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, two sisters, Marion Zdrazil of St Paul, MN and Irene Bowe of Eau Claire, WI, three brothers, Ken Anderl of Washington state, Ralph Anderl of Eau Claire, WI, and Tom Anderl of Minnesota and many nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elfrieda and Aloysius Anderl; husband Ronald Welch; husband Larry Ziehl; son Charles Welch; daughter Susan Roodell; son Glen Welch; granddaughter Leah Olson and sister, Kathleen Dunn.

Gloria resided at the American Lutheran Home in Menomonie since October, 2025. She loved interacting with the staff and they were very kind. A special thank you to all of them for the wonderful care she received.

Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 12, 2026 at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie, WI with Chaplain Bonnie Geurkink officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at St. Joseph's Parish Cemetery in Menomonie, WI in the spring.
