Gerald “Jerry” Retz, 81, of Boyceville, WI passed away unexpectedly of natural causes on August 2, 2026, and entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior.
Jerry was born on June 5, 1945, in Boyceville, where he was raised and spent most of his life. He proudly served his country in Vietnam, trained as an electrician, owned and operated an agricultural equipment business, and later concluded his career in agricultural equipment sales in Menomonie.
On May 14, 1983, he married the love of his life, Jean Retz. They were blessed with one son, Mark. They built a life centered on faith, family, and time spent outdoors.
Jerry's Christian faith was the foundation of his life. He was a longtime member of St. John's Lutheran Church and later Trinity Lutheran Church. He found joy in hunting, fishing, tackling projects, and helping others. Gregarious and outgoing, Jerry never met a stranger. He had a gift for fixing almost anything, a wonderful sense of humor, and was always willing to lend a hand or share a conversation.
He is lovingly remembered by his son, Mark (Brittney) Retz; his grandchildren, Alexzander, Luella, and Emilia; his faithful canine companion, Snickers, and many special life-long friends.
Jerry was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 43 years, Jean; and by his parents, Elmer and Alice Retz.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, August 20, 2026, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Boyceville, WI with Pastor Brad Peterson officiating. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by the service at 11:00 a.m.
