Elizabeth Stewart

Elizabeth “Jo” Stewart, age 80, of Menomonie passed away peacefully Tuesday, May 27, 2025 at the Mayo Clinic Health System Hospital, Menomonie.

She was born on August 11, 1944 in Menomonie, Wi to Milton and Dorothy (Sand) Boerner. She was raised in the Menomonie area and graduated from Menomonie High School in 1962.

On November 24, 1962, Jo married Lynn Stewart in Menomonie. Together they farmed and raised their family, until retiring in 2004. She and Lynn travelled around the area visiting friends and family until Lynn’s death in 2017. She thoroughly enjoyed being a Grandma and cheering on the kids accomplishments. Many fondly remember her wonderful cinnamon rolls, pies and brownies. Her loving hands and heart are at rest in Our Savior’s loving arms.

Jo is survived by her daughters Lynda Stewart of Menomonie, Lisa (Richard) Merrell of Chippewa Falls; four grandchildren Nathan and Andrea (fiancé Cody Marschall) Loscher and Joshua and Jordan Merrell. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Lynn, parents Milton and Dorothy, and son-in-law Tim DeAtley.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 2, 2025 at Grace Episcopal Church in Menomonie, WI with Reverend Jacalyn Broughton officiating. There will be visitation two hours prior to service at the church. Lunch and fellowship to follow service. Burial will be in Tramway Cemetery in the Town of Menomonie, Dunn County, WI.

In lieu of flowers the family encourages donations to Tramway Cemetery, Grace Episcopal or charity of donor’s choice.
