Dunn County: Fentanyl Awareness Campaign

The Dunn County Health Department is running an opioid overdose awareness campaign to share more about the risks of Fentanyl. Fentanyl is a dangerous drug often mixed with other drugs that aren’t prescribed by your doctor, making them cheaper and more addictive. Even a tiny amount of Fentanyl can lead to a deadly overdose.

Fentanyl Facts:

  • Fentanyl overdoses can be fatal.

  • The amount of Fentanyl in illegal drugs and fake pills is unpredictable, even from the same batch.

  • In 2020, 86% of opioid deaths in Wisconsin were connected to a synthetic or man-made opioid like fentanyl.

  • Illegally made Fentanyl is often found in fake pills designed to look like prescription drugs.

  • Fentanyl was found in Delta 8 THC gummies that caused at least two overdoses.
