Douglas Van Blaricom

Douglas W. Van Blaricom, age 71 of Menomonie passed away Monday, April 6, 2026 at his home.

Doug was born July 10, 1954 to Wayne and Marie (Engebretson) Van Blaricom in Amery, Wisconsin. He was the fifth of six children, and they all grew up in Menomonie. Douglas graduated from Menomonie High School 1972 and then attended Chippewa Valley Technical Collage. He worked at Badger Iron Works for 45 years as a welder-fabricator and maintenance man.

Douglas was a dependable, honest, and quietly generous. Whether is was a lending a helping hand, fixing what was broken, or offering advice, Doug made his presence known in ways that will not be forgotten.

He is survived by sibling Harlan (Bev), Ione (Dave) Meoska, Carla (Brian) Hofland, Ruth, and Niles (Linda), special partner Marilyn Schroeder and her family as well as many other nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Douglas was preceded in death by his parents and other relatives and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 16, 2026 at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie with Celebrant Teresa Pejsa officiating. There will be a visitation from 1:00 - 3:00p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Christ Lutheran Halvorson Cemetery in Menomonie.
