Community Foundation of Dunn County February grant recipients

On April 30, 2026, the Community Foundation of Dunn County recognized the February 2026 grant recipients at the Annual Luncheon held at Tanglewood Greens.



Menomonie Police Department - $400 grant "Cops 4 Kids/Shop with a Cop Program." This grant was made possible through support from The Rundle Family Fund.


Through this Shop with a Cop initiative, local children in need are able to purchase essential items while spending time with law enforcement officers in a positive, supportive environment.


Programs like this help make MORE possible by building trust, strengthening community relationships, and reminding young people that they are seen, valued, and supported.




GSNWGL - Girl Scouts of the Northwestern Great Lakes - $2,500 grant "Equity in Dunn County Girl Scout Leadership"


This project helps empower girls through leadership programming focused on building character, confidence, and life skills, all supported by dedicated, trained volunteer mentors.


By investing in opportunities for girls to grow and lead, Girl Scouts is helping make MORE possible for the next generation of community leaders.




Colfax Railroad Museum - $3,500 grant "After-School Model Railroad Club"


This hands-on program will provide students with interactive learning experiences using model railroad equipment and building supplies while encouraging creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.


Projects like this help make MORE possible by giving young people opportunities to learn, build, and explore in engaging new and creative ways.




Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northwestern Wisconsin - $5,000 grant "Strengthening Youth Mentoring in Dunn County"


This project will expand both site-based and community-based mentoring opportunities, helping connect more local youth with caring adult role models.


These meaningful relationships help make MORE possible by building confidence, encouraging growth, and creating stronger futures for young people in our community.




Colfax Public Library - $2,500 grant "Read Without Barriers Program"


This project will expand access to reading materials through large print books, Vox talking books, and PlayAways, helping support children with low vision and diverse learning needs.


By creating more accessible reading opportunities, Colfax Public Library is helping make even MORE possible for young readers and families throughout the community.




West CAP - $5,000 grant "Dunn County Housing Choice Voucher Program"


This program provides monthly rent assistance to low-income households, helping individuals and families access safe, stable housing while easing financial pressure during challenging times.


By helping community members remain securely housed, West CAP is helping make more possible for families across Dunn County.




Stepping Stones of Dunn County - $5,000 grant "Homelessness Prevention"


This funding will help provide critical assistance to working families experiencing housing challenges, helping prevent eviction and maintain stability during times of crisis.


Programs like this help make even more possible by keeping families safely housed, reducing stress, and providing support before challenges become emergencies.




Shirley Doane Senior Center - $5,000 grant "Cabinets for Community & Capacity Building"


This project will upgrade the Senior Center’s “Sunshine Room” with additional cabinetry and counter space, creating a more functional and welcoming environment for senior programs, gatherings, and partner services.


By improving this important community space, Shirley Doane Senior Center is helping make more possible for older adults and the organizations that serve them.



Colfax Wisconsin EMS (Colfax Rescue) - $2,102 grant "IV and IO Clinical Preparedness"


This funding will support the purchase of hands-on training equipment, including IV and IO training tools, helping EMS personnel strengthen critical skills and better prepare for emergency situations.


By investing in training and preparedness, Colfax Rescue is helping make MORE possible for the health and safety of our communities.




Compass IL - $4,500 grant "Transportation for Community Access"


Through a network of dedicated volunteer drivers, this program provides free, reliable transportation for older adults and individuals with disabilities, helping community members stay connected to the services and support they need.


Projects like this help make MORE possible by reducing isolation and creating greater access, independence, and quality of life throughout Dunn County.




Literacy Chippewa Valley - $5,000 grant "Corrections Education in the Dunn County Jail"


This program supports inmate rehabilitation through GED preparation, vocational training, and personal development courses—helping individuals build skills, prepare for reentry, and reduce barriers to long-term success.


By investing in education and second chances, Literacy Chippewa Valley is helping make MORE possible for individuals, families, and our community as a whole.




Dunn County Aging and Disability Resource Center - ADRC - $3,000 grant "Connected & Confident: Tech Training for Older Adults"


This program is designed to increase access to technology and confidence through instructor-led training and take-home laptops.


This project is helping make MORE possible by empowering older adults with the tools and skills needed to stay informed, engaged, and connected in an increasingly digital world.




Elk Mound School District - $5,000 grant "Building Student Success Through Connections"


This project will strengthen student support systems across grades K–12 through staff training focused on relationship-building, engagement, and student connection, including programs led by Gaelin Elmore and Check & Connect.


By investing in meaningful connections between students and staff, Elk Mound School District is helping make MORE possible for young people throughout their educational journey.




Wilson Place Mansion - $2,650 grant "50 Years of Preserving & Sharing Local History"


This project will bring community members of all ages together through interactive activities, youth participation, and the creation of a community time capsule designed to capture memories and milestones from today for future generations.

Dunn County Historical Society - $1,560 grant "Safeguarding History Through Improved Preservation"


This funding will help protect more than 20,000 historical artifacts through the purchase of HEPA vacuums, a textile steamer, and specialized cleaning tools designed to reduce dust, mold, and long-term damage.


By helping preserve these pieces of our shared story, Dunn County Historical Society is making MORE possible for future generations to learn from and connect with our community’s history.




Wisconsin Milkweed Alliance - WIMA - $1,900 grant "Building Community Safety: Life-Saving Training & Supplies"


Grant funding will support staff training in CPR, First Aid, AED, and Naloxone use, while also helping provide basic survival supplies for individuals experiencing housing instability.


This project is helping make MORE possible by strengthening emergency response skills and providing essential support for vulnerable community members.




Menomonie United Methodist Church -$1,650 grant "Enhancing Monday's Meal to Promote Food Security"


The program promotes food security for those in need and strengthens a weekly meal that serves approximately 225–250 individuals. Funding will help upgrade kitchen equipment to improve meal preparation and service capacity, making even MORE possible for neighbors facing food insecurity in our community.




Hmong Friendship Center - $5,000 grant "Creating Space for Culture, Health & Belonging"


Funding will support culturally responsive programming by adding exercise equipment and group meeting supplies, creating opportunities for improved health, stronger connections, and reduced isolation.


The Hmong Friendship Center is helping make MORE possible for Hmong elders and adults with disabilities in our community.




Roundtable Revival - $4,000 grant "Pathways to Stability: Re-entry Support Services in Dunn County"


This project provides mentoring and support for individuals transitioning back into the community while helping to address barriers such as housing and transportation.

The Bridge to Hope - $3,649 grant "Strengthening Support for Survivors Through Improved Spaces"


This grant will fund new audio/visual equipment and storage solutions to create a more functional, welcoming environment and enhance services for individuals experiencing abuse.
