Bernice Sinz Boe

Bernice Sinz Boe passed away peacefully on September 13, 2026 at Mayo Luther Hospital in Eau Claire, WI.
She was born on August 30, 1931 in Turtle Lake, Wisconsin, to parents Henry W. Becker and Alvina M.L. Volkmann Becker.
Bernice grew up working on the family farm, attended Midway Grade School in Turtle Lake, WI. She graduated from Turtle Lake High School in 1949. She was confirmed at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Almena, WI. After high school, Bernice worked at Bark’s Bakery in Menomonie, Wisconsin.
She then became a beautician, working at Alma’s Beauty Shop in Menomonie, WI. In the mid 60’s Bernice opened her own beauty salon, “B’s House of Beauty” in Cedar Falls. She also traveled to various tech schools teaching cosmetology. She retired when her husband Jerry was diagnosed with cancer in 1994.
She met Jerry Sinz at a dance while he was playing and singing with his band. They married on February 23, 1951. Together they had four sons, and were happily married until Jerry passed away in 1995.
Bernice’s family more than doubled when she married Charles “Chuck” Boe in 1998. They were happily married until Chuck passed away on February 9, 2025.
She was an avid golfer, and loved to play games of all kinds, especially card games and Scrabble. She had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to laugh. She made a quilt for every one of her grandchildren. Bernice was also an excellent seamstress, and made most of Jerry’s stage clothes. Bernice lived a full and vibrant life, and loved spending time with her large and loving family. She also loved the time she spent with her dear friends in Wisconsin and during the winters months in Hot Springs Village, Arkansas.
Bernice is survived by sons Randy Sinz (Sue Orfield) of Eau Claire, Scott (Vicky) Sinz of Menomonie, Todd (Dianne) Sinz of Menomonie, and Rob (Lori) Sinz of Boyceville. Grandchildren, Ryan, Colin (Lindsay) Sinz, Lindsay (Mark) Lyder, Garrett (Nicole) Sinz, Lauren (Scotty) L’Heureux, Mitchell (Abbie) Sinz, Meghan Sinz and Tanner Sinz. Great Grandchildren, Ella, Charolette, Avery, Parker, Theodore, Shae, Ayla and Blair.
She is also survived by her brother Harland (Pat) Becker, sister Beatrice Elfers (Dave Herbert) and her sister-in-law Beverly Becker. She is further survived by her step-children Dan (Nancy) Boe of Stoughton, Kari Boe Doyle of Spooner, Lynnea (Tim) Lake of Spooner, and Eric (Pat) Boe of Hot Springs Village, AR. She is also survived by 8 step-grandchildren and 8 step-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, her brothers Henry, Howard, Harold and Harvey Becker.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Neighbors of Dunn County and the nurses at Mayo Health System - Luther Campus in Eau Claire for the wonderful care they provided her.
The family suggests memorials go to the Alzheimer’s Association or the American Heart Association.
Bernice will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Visitation will be held at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie, Wisconsin on Monday, September 21 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m.
Memorial service will be held at Olson Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 22 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor David Whelan officiating. An additional visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
