Barbara A. Shannon

Barbara A. Shannon, age 69, of Menomonie, passed away on Thursday, December 25, 2025 at her home with family by her side.

Barb was born on July 19, 1956 in Eau Claire to Donald F. and Mary Jane (Deutscher) Williams.

She grew up on the family farm near Hatchville, graduated from Menomonie High School in 1974, and worked various secretarial jobs before marrying John Shannon on Aug. 12, 1978 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Menomonie.

Together they operated Shannondoah Farm in the town of Menomonie for over 40 years. Barb started Dairyland Appraisal in 1999 and has done appraisals all over north western WI. She also served as district secretary for AMPI and was on the Dunn Energy board for 12 years. Barb loved animals and had a passion for farming her entire life.

Barb was preceded in death by her parents and husband John.

She is survived by son Allen (Bristol) Shannon of Menomonie, one grandson Kipton Shannon of Menomonie.

Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 2, 2026 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Menomonie, WI with Father Jojo officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:30 – 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at St. Josephs Parish Cemetery in Menomonie, WI at a later date.
