Arthur “Art” D. Hall, age 86, of Elmwood, WI, passed away on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, surrounded by his family at Mayo Clinic Health System – Eau Claire.

He was born on March 14, 1940, in Elmwood, WI, to Stanley and Hazel (DeLong) Hall. Art grew up in the Elmwood area and graduated from Durand High School in 1958.

After high school, Art left the family farm and landscaping business to work in construction for Wahl Brothers and later Shackelton Construction. Over the years, he also drove a gas truck and worked on furnaces for Schauls for 11 years. A skilled mechanic, Art later owned and operated Eau Galle Body Shop from 1980 until selling it in 1993. He continued running a small auto repair shop until his retirement in 2012.

Art was a member of the Eau Galle Sportsmen’s Club and had a lifelong love of the outdoors. He especially enjoyed hunting, including an annual trip to Wyoming that began in 1958. Over the years, he brought along many family members and friends to experience their first out-of-state hunt. In his free time, Art enjoyed working on and collecting firearms and was also an avid reader. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and most of all spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Art had a deep appreciation for cars, attending car shows, working on vehicles, and taking drives, especially through Buttermilk Coulee in search of deer. He particularly enjoyed his convertible.

Art is survived by his daughter, Shannon (Wayne) Small; son, Beaver (Shannon) Hall; grandchildren, Brett (Elaine) Hall and Shelby Hall; and great-grandchildren, Bennett, Annie, Colt, and Kamari. He is further survived by his sister, Arla Deveau; brother, Gordy (Jacqueline) Hall; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
