Arlene J. Riek

Arlene J. Riek, age 89 of Boyceville passed away Monday October 12, 2026, at Our House in Menomonie.

Arlene was born on November 4, 1936, in Menomonie, WI to John and Marie (Benitz) Huley. She was raised in Boyceville and attended school there until graduating in 1954. Arlene married Jerry Riek on February 17, 1956.

Arlene worked for a short time in the Twin Cities at an Insurance company before going to work at the Boyceville Creamery. After many years of service at the Creamery, she went to work as a bookkeeper for the Boyceville School District until her retirement.

Activities that made her happiest were spending time with her children and grandchildren. Arlene also enjoyed gardening, tending to her flowers and lawn ornaments. She enjoyed watching sports, particularly her favorite teams, the Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers. Arlene was a wonderful and willing babysitter and never missed a chance to spend the day with her grandkids.

Arlene is preceded in death by her parents John and Marie Huley and her loving husband Jerry.

Arlene is survived by her son Jeff (Teri) Riek and daughter Brenda (Marty) Hedlund. Grandchildren: Josh (Angie) Riek, Jake (Cassie) Riek, Nicole (Taylor) Johnson, Eric (Anni) Hedlund. Great grandchildren Madysn (Tristan) Talmage and Ashton (Anna Bull) Riek and Jayla, Easton and Ciera Riek. She is further survived by nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 16, 2026, at Olson Funeral Home, with Pastor Michael Penikis officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Lunch will follow the service, and burial will be in the Tiffany Cemetery, Boyceville, WI.
