Safe Homes, Strong Community: The Case for Proactive Rental Inspections - June 10th

Tuesday, June 10, 2025 6:00 PM -  7:30 PM CT

Mabel Tainter Theater, 205 Main St E, Menomonie, WI 54751

Join us on Tuesday, June 10th, at the historic Mabel Tainter Theater for an important community conversation about strengthening housing standards in Menomonie. Our featured guest, Kelly Reed from the City of Racine, will share the inspiring story of Racine RENTS, a proactive rental inspection program that has improved housing quality, strengthened neighborhoods, and benefited the entire community.

As Menomonie residents consider a similar approach, this event offers tenants, homeowners, business owners, and UW-Stout leaders an opportunity to learn, ask questions, and help shape the future of our city. Safe, well-maintained housing is the foundation of a thriving community. Let's work together to make it a reality.

Read about why proactive rental inspections needed in Menomonie in GROWW's report “Housing in Menomonie: A Community Report,” that outlines stories of neglect in the rental market. The report was compiled by GROWW's Housing Justice Team and is the culmination of a months-long listening campaign that engaged hundreds of residents in the community.
