Michael Dean Feigal, 76, of Menomonie, WI, passed away on May 16, 2026 at Mayo Clinic Health System Hospital in Eau Claire.
A Celebration of Life service will take place at First Congregational UCC, 420 Wilson Ave, Menomonie, WI, 54751, on Saturday, May 23, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Renee Mehlberg officiating, preceded by a visitation at 10:00 a.m., and followed by a reception.
Born to Marjorie (Kottke) and Robert Feigal in Red Wing, MN, Mike grew up in Pine Island, MN, where he graduated high school as valedictorian while also excelling in athletics and music, playing piano and trombone, and earning the rank of Eagle Scout. After graduating from Hamline University, he attended the University of Minnesota Medical School, and completed his Family Medicine residency at Bethesda Hospital. In 1978, he began primary care practice at Red Cedar Clinic and was among the first physicians at Myrtle Werth Medical Center in Menomonie. Over his 48-year career, Dr. Feigal cared for thousands of patients of all ages, at one point delivering over 100 babies in a single year! He continued to practice until his death, finding profound meaning in being a part of his patients’ lives. Outside of the hospital and clinic, Mike could be found tending the garden, playing a rousing rendition of Maple Leaf Rag on the piano, walking his beloved dog Pepper, or spending time with his grandchildren. In recent years, Mike embarked on a journey of recovery and found deep connection in the Alcoholics Anonymous community.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Marjorie, his brother, Robert, and brother-in-law, Lon Hitch.
He is survived by his wife, Paula, children Benjamin (Angela), Jordan (Tara), Jacob (Megan) and Alexandra (Ferly), and 6 grandchildren. He is further survived by siblings Anne (Larry) Day, Sue Feigal-Hitch, Mark (Carma) Feigal, and sister-in-law Ceese Stickles.
Mike will be remembered for his steadfast care for his community, his patients, and his family. His dedication and presence were gifts to so many.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation (https://www.hazeldenbettyford.org/ways-to-give).
