Carmen L. Duval

ree

Carmen Lyn Duval, of Colfax, WI, died tragically on Sunday, June 15th, after an abrupt diagnosis and battle with Leukemia. She was being treated in Rochester, Minnesota, before losing her battle only 7 days later. She was 58.

Carmen was born in Wadena, Minnesota on Sept. 6th, 1966 to Milo and Cheryl Wark. She studied accounting in college and worked multiple jobs to provide for her kids. In 2004, she relocated to Wisconsin, where she met Wayne. They married in 2012 and shared 15 great years of love together.

Carmen is preceded in death by her husband Wayne and father Milo, as well as her grandparents, some aunts, uncles, cousins, and other extended family.

She is survived by her five children: Marcus, Sheryda, Cassie, Austin and Micole, as well as her mother Cheryl, sister's Shawna and Marie, brother Jason, 8 grandchildren, her best friend of 40 years, Barb Jackson, along with many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, cousins, step/grandchildren, extended family and many, many friends.

Carmen was vocal, present in her time with her family, and had a way about her that could not be ignored. She brought joy to those who loved her, was a person of all heart, full of spirit, and was the fiercest loving Mother a group of kids could have. The moments spent with Carmen are a treasure that will now only be mapped out by memories.

Her time here was taken, too unexpectedly, and too short notice to prepare, fight back, or even mourn the diagnosis. The loss of a mother, grandmother, family, and friend is felt by everyone who loves Carmen. She will be sorely missed.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 12:00 – 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 6, 2025 at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie, WI. Interment will be at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Almora, MN at a later date.
