From the Dragon Tale Books Facebook page:
You dream of being a published author. You don’t have time to write, though … work or school is hectic, the house needs to be cleaned, the kids demand your attention … But long-time Menomonie editor and author Rob Bignell bets you can find just 7 minutes a day to pursue your dream.
Bignell will present how to use a practical, writer-friendly process to make the most of those 7 minutes that ultimately leads to a published book on Thursday, Jan. 12, from 6-7 p.m. at Dragon Tale Books in downtown Menomonie, 216 Main St. E.
The author of more than 40 published books – many of them topping Amazon.com bestseller lists – Bignell runs Inventing Reality Editing Service, which has helped more than 300 writers get their books published during the past decade. He’s the author of the popular “7 Minutes a Day…” writing guidebooks.
Topics of Bignell’s presentation include how to find 7 minutes a day to write, how to follow a process when writing even if you hate processes, and the value of outlining. Those attending should bring a pen and notebook, as Bignell in workshop fashion will have you practice those steps by generating a story idea, coming up with a main character for your story, and developing a basic plotline.
While the presentation is aimed at novelists and short story writers, Bignell also will discuss and workshop nonfiction if those attending are writing it rather than fiction.
No reservation is necessary for the presentation.
