Winter Safety Information from Dunn County

Winter safety information posted on the Dunn County Facebook page:

Wisconsin lakes are a fun place for winter activities. If you are headed out on the ice, it is essential to know the ice depth. So how do you know when it's safe? The Wisconsin DNR does not monitor the local ice conditions. They recommend talking with locals, bait shops, and fishing clubs, as they often have the most up-to-date information. Keep in mind that ice is never 100% safe. If you don't know, don't go!

After an emergency, you may not have access to clean water or electricity. That is why it is important to have at home at least a 3-day food and water supply that meets your and your family’s needs.
