This past Saturday the Menomonie Wrestling team had six individuals complete at the Division 1 Sectional Tournament at Eau Claire North. They were sophomore Brayten Casey (106), junior Kellan Aure (132), senior Nick Haviland (170), junior Brady Thompson (182), senior Josh Boyette (195) and junior Cody Kwak (220).
Kellen Aure finished as the sectional champ in his weight class. Brayten Casey and Cody Kwak finished in second place in their weight classes. All three qualified to advance to the WIAA Division 1 Individual State Tournament at the Kohl's Center in Madison this weekend.
Unfortunately, Cody Kwak suffered a non-wrestling related injury on Tuesday and is unable to wrestle at the tournament. Aure and Casey have their first matchups on Thursday, February 24th at 3pm. More information on the tournament, including brackets, can be found here.
