Snowplowing update from Dunn County

From the Dunn County Facebook page:

Dunn County Plows are out in full force with additional plows and graders trying to keep up with the snow amounts and blowing and drifting snow.

Dunn County has 17 County plow routes and 9 State routes in a given snow event. Each plow route consists of approximately 50 lane miles for each route. Each route takes between 3-4 hours, depending on snow amounts from start to finish, which doesn't include plowing shoulders and cleaning intersections. These times are typically adjusted with larger snow amounts and blowing and drifting snow.

With blowing and drifting snow, a lot of the snow that is removed from the roadway comes back onto the road and sometimes gives the illusion that a snowplow never plowed that particular area.

Dunn County plows will continue plowing throughout the day and into the evening for roadways to be passable. It may take a few extra days and possibly into next week for roads to be free of snow and ice. Please be understanding and allow us time to clean the State and County roadways within Dunn County.
