Menomonie Police Chief Eric Atkinson is releasing the following information pursuant to Wisconsin State Statute 301.46(2m) which authorizes law enforcement agencies to inform the public of a sex offender’s release or relocation when; in the discretion of the agency, the release of information will enhance public safety, awareness and protection. The individual who appears on this notification has been convicted of sex offenses.

This offender has served the incarceration sentence imposed on him by the courts. He is NOT wanted by the police at this time. This notification is not intended to increase fear; rather, it is our belief that an informed public is a safer public.
Sex offenders have always lived in our communities; but it was not until Act 440 was enacted that law enforcement is able to share this information with the community. Citizen abuse of this information to threaten, intimidate or harass registered sex offenders will NOT be tolerated. Michael L. Jaenke M/W, DOB 05/04/1974 will be temporarily housed for up to 30 days at the Quality Inn, 1721 Plaza Dr., Menomonie WI 54751. A follow up notification will be made once other housing is identified. Jaenke was incarcerated in the Wisconsin Prison System for 1st Degree Sexual Assault of a Child, and two separated offenses for Possession of Child Pornography. Release Date; July 26, 2022. Jaenke will be on extended supervision for 10 years and subject to Global Positioning System (GPS). Jaenke will be required to register with the Wisconsin Sex Offender Registry Program for life. Other restrictions will also be set forth by the Department of Corrections and his Probation Agent Paul Gilbertson.
