Notes for the Week - 4/21

The Iron Knight posted a message on Twitter this week announcing his retirement, but it was followed up a few days later with a tweet that retirement is boring and he'd rather spread joy then sit around all day, so who knows, maybe he'll be back.


The Friends of the Menomonie Public Library raised over $6900 at their recent book sale. This money supports events and services at the library.


The Pablo Center in Eau Claire has a High School Art Exhibit on display in the Foust Gallery. Several students from MHS have their artwork in the exhibit. Artwork will be on display through this weekend. Admission is free. If you are unable to make it over, follow this link to the virtual gallery.


The Ludington Guard Band announced that the summer concerts will take place this year along with the return of the pie social. Popcorn will also be available from the Senior Center. The drawing for non-profit groups that would like to participate in the pie social will be held next Monday, April 25th at 7pm in the stout band room.


American Red Cross volunteers will be installing free smoke alarms in communities nationwide to help protect people from home fires. If your home needs working smoke alarms, sign up for a home fire safety visit from your local Red Cross. Find more information here.


Hang's Cuisine has moved from its location by Dick's Fresh Market to South Broadway next door to the Meet Market. They are open limited hours with a limited menu as they await completion of their main kitchen. If you are on Facebook, you can check their page for updates.
