Notes for the Week - 12/15

Around the holidays we often hear about new scams and cyber-attacks. Follow this link to ready.gov to learn how to keep you and your family safe.

Bookends on Main, which is closing on December 27th is having a special item sale: All wall art is discounted 40% -- all framed prints, photos, posters and wall hangings.

The Menomonie Area Disc Golf Organization (MADGO) is selling DISCount cards to raise funds for equipment and improvements to the disc golf courses in Menomonie. The cards are $20 and can be purchased at Simple Sports. There are lots of great deals on the cards from local businesses.

Changes may be coming for Mustang football. The WIAA is proposing a merger of the BRC and the Valley Football Association. East and west leagues would be created with the end result being Menomonie no longer playing either of the Eau Claire schools on a regular basis. Hopefully there will be more to come in this story. Stay tuned.

With all of the snow and ice we just got, remember to give snowplows plenty of room. Dunn County Highway snowplows have brand new lights this year. In addition to the yellow warning lights, you will see flashing green lights. The combination will make it easier for drivers to spot snowplows during deteriorating weather conditions.

A reminder from the City of Menomonie - The Dunn County Treasurer will be collecting the FIRST and SECOND installments of the 2022 Real Estate and Personal Property taxes for the City of Menomonie. All Real Estate Taxes and Personal Property taxes need to be paid at the Dunn County Treasurer's Office: 3001 US Hwy 12 E, Suite 102B (Old Health Care Center).

Take time to enjoy the snow if you can. Check out this video of a panda bear playing in the snow

I think this wins the photo of the week award!
