Nature Fest at WoodWind Park

WoodWind Park will be hosting Nature Fest on Sunday, May 22nd from 7am-4pm. The park is located at E7115 1058th Avenue, Wheeler.

Enjoy birding, art walks, hiking scavenger hunts, informational booths, wood-fire pizza, and live music. It is a play it forward event for Tropical Wings.

General Admission of $5 includes access to trails for open hiking, scavenger hunt challenges, and music.

Additional ticketed activities include:

  • Birding Hike, 7am ($5) - Early birding hike with Nina Koch.

  • Birding Hike, 9am ($5) - Birding hike with Nina Koch.

  • Birding Hike, 11am ($5) - Birding hike with Nina Koch.

  • Nature Journaling Hike, 10am ($5) - Guided hike with writing prompts provided by published author Meagan Frank (journal provided).

  • Put a Bird on It Art Workshop, 10am ($5) - Bird images provided to paint, sketch or create collage art under the direction of professional art therapist instructor Jeanne Dietrich.

  • Art in the Woods Experience, 9am ($5) - Meditative hike and art sketching experience with professional artist Bill Thompson.

Scavenger Hunt Info - This year’s scavenger hunt at Nature Fest will include hiking to find as many of Bruce Mainquist’s iron sculptures as you can. The 16 renderings we have on loan from Denny Lenz will be placed throughout The Park. For those interested, you can collect a stamp at each sculpture and then be eligible to win prizes. You’ll receive more details when you check in. (Make sure you have a waiver on file).
