Mustang Girls Basketball Earn First Trip to State

After defeating the Lakeland Union Thunderbirds 56-44 on Saturday in the sectional final, the Menomonie Mustang girls basketball team is headed to the state tournament for the first time in school history.

The Mustangs will play the #1 ranked Notre Dame de la Baie Academy Tritons (out of Green Bay) in the first semifinal game on Friday, March 11th at 1:35 pm. The Mustangs enter the final weekend of the WIAA tournament ranked #4. The #2 Reedsburg Beavers will play the #3 Pewaukee Pirates about 15-minutes after the first game is finished.

The winners of the semifinal games will play in the championship game on Saturday, March 12th at 6:35 pm.

Tickets will be sold at the high school office starting at noon on Monday. Tickets are $11 and are not available online. All games are played at the Resch Center in Green Bay. Games will be carried locally on WQOW-Channel 18.
