MPD Shares Officer Retirement

The Menomonie Police Department shared the following on their Facebook page:

On July 16, 2003 the MPD was blessed to hire Jeff Small to serve our community as a police officer. Today - after serving for over eighteen years - Officer Small retired from the MPD.

During his career he was known as a standout officer that could be counted on to investigate crimes, console victims, support people that were suffering from poverty and be a calm presence during times of calamity. Moreover, Officer Small served as a dedicated SWAT operator for the MPD tactical team until the teams merger with the Eau Claire Regional SWAT Team.

Furthermore, his greatest professional contribution was his devotion to training future generations of police officers. Officer Small trained two different generations of MPD officers the technical skills of policing while imparting the virtues of public service. His commitment was so strong, he went on to serve as Wisconsin's Region Five Representative of the Wisconsin Field Training Officers Association.

Please join us in congratulating Officer Small on an outstanding eighteen year career with the MPD, and twenty years of overall law enforcement service. Thank you Officer Small for everything you have done and sacrificed to keep our great community safe. Your contributions will never be forgotten.
