MPD Seeks Public's Assistance in Attempted Burglary

The Menomonie Police Department is seeking the public's assistance.

From the Menomonie Police Department Facebook page:

We are investigating an attempted burglary at a car dealership that occurred on 06/15/22.

Officers responded to an alarm for a showroom door and upon arrival found the door damaged. After officers cleared the building, the general manager and keyholder reviewed camera footage, which showed a black four door sedan drive around the building before backing into the door. This triggered an audible alarm and the vehicle drove away. It does not appear that anyone exited the vehicle at any time.

The vehicle may be a 2013 BMW 5 Series. The operator may have been trying to get the keys to expensive vehicles, which were parked in the lot by the roadway. Similar incidents have occurred elsewhere in the area.

Pictures of the incident vehicle are found below. Please contact 715-232-1283 if you have any information on this incident, and reference case M22-01363. You can also report online and anonymously through the Dunn County Crime Stoppers Inc.
