From the Menomonie Police Department:
In honor of Women's History Month, we are highlighting the fantastic women who are sworn officers for the Menomonie Police Department! Out of a total of 27 sworn positions, five sworn members of the Menomonie Police Department are female, comprising 19% of the department. One of those women is Youth Services Officer (YSO) Maloree Zassenhaus.
YSO Zassenhaus is originally from the Wausau area and has worked for the Menomonie Police Department for 10 years. She's currently the YSO at the Menomonie High School. She's also a Certified Forensic Computer Examiner, so she (along with one other officer) examine any digital evidence the police department collects as evidence.
When asked what motivated her to pursue a career in law enforcement, YSO Zassenhaus says "I've always said I've wanted to be a police officer since I was young. I stuck to that career path and made it happen. The best part of being a police officer is that every day is different and being able to serve a community is very fulfilling."
