Recently, there have been multiple incidents in which locked vehicles have been broken into while parked at a park or near a trail. In each incident, vehicle windows are smashed in order to gain access to items that have been left in the vehicle.
Criminals that utilize a quick ‘smash and grab’ method tend to target areas that it would be highly likely for a purse or wallet to be left in the vehicle unattended, such as (but not limited to): fitness centers, daycares, parks, and sporting events.
Please take precautions to not leave your purse or wallet unattended in your vehicle. If you must leave them, be sure to secure them in a trunk or other secure location within the vehicle.
