Track and Field
The girls team took second place in their invitational meet at Chippewa Falls on Friday, May 7th. Placing first for the Mustangs were Maddy Palmer in the 1600 meter run, Bella Jacobsen in the 3200m run, Jordyn Buttke in the Shot Put, and the 3200 meter relay team of Julia Skorczewski, Ali Ruch, Paige Anderson and Bella Jacobsen. The team posted 20 personal records for the meet.
The boys team finished 1st of 4 teams, continuing their undefeated season. Individual first place finishes were Will Ocker in the 100m, Patrick Schwartz in the 1600m, Jayden Williams in the long jump and high jump, and Kaleb Kazmarek in the pole vault.
The MHS tennis team traveled to the Milwaukee area for a tournament on Saturday, May 8th. The team won the entire tournament by beating Slinger in the first round, Wauwatosa West in the second round and Hartford in the final. The Mustang's were led by Jace Gilbertson at the #1 singles position who went undefeated. Freshman Isaac Johnson went 3-0 at his #3 singles position, as did Noah Reckin at #4.
The MHS soccer team had a pair of wins on Saturday, May 8th. They beat Sparta 8-0. Two goals each for Mia Smith, Sam Jacobsen and Kiana Frank. Alexis Benrud and Meghan Prochnow rounded out the scoring. The second game of the day was against La Crosse Central with an 8-1 win for the Mustangs. Smith tallied four goals, Jacobsen had two, Sophia Schoenberger got her first of the year and Frank got a late one. Assists were spread through the team between both games: Jacobsen, Benrud and Frank each had three on the day, and Maisah Wilson got on the board with a pair.
The defense kept the opponents to a total of 10 shots.
