MHS Girls Cross Country Finish 5th at State

The Menomonie Girls Cross Country Team finished fifth out of twenty teams at the State Meet in Wisconsin Rapids. They were led by senior Bella Jacobsen who finished 5th out of 186 runners with a time of 18:22. Also scoring for Menomonie were senior Ali Ruch (20:14), junior Anna Imsande (20:36), senior Helen Chen (20:43) and senior Maddie Palmer (20:56). Non scoring runners were sophomore Brooklyn Hoff (21:42) and senior Emma Mommsen (21:58).

Bella Jacobsen earned all-state 1st team honors. The girls finish their season with a record of 151 wins and 9 losses, the best record in school history, and the 5th place finish at state is the highest team finish in school history.

It was an extremely close race with only 10 points separating 2nd through 5th place. The girls have had a fantastic season and have shown incredible sportsmanship throughout the year. They are a wonderful group of young women and parents family, friends and fans are extremely proud of them.
