MHS Band Students Advance to State Festival

Four MHS band students received a 1* rating on their Class A solos at the Wisconsin School Music Association's District Solo Festival and have advanced to the state festival. The district solo and ensemble was held virtually, with students submitting video recordings of their solos. Students advancing to the state festival are Luke Mahoney for his trumpet performance, Jordyn Buttke for her clarinet performance, Jared McCann for his alto sax performance, and Garrett Crouse for his piano performance. The state festival, which is also a virtual event, will occur at the end of April.

Additionally, Luke Mahoney auditioned for and was selected into the Wisconsin School Music Association's Honors Jazz Ensemble. Only four trumpet players in the state of Wisconsin are selected into this prestigious group, and Luke's selection sets him aside as one of the best high school jazz trumpeters in the state of Wisconsin. This honor is the equivalent of making an all-state sports team.
