Twenty young wrestlers represented the Menomonie Wrestling Club and our community at the WWF (Wisconsin Wrestling Federation) State Wrestling Tournament held in the Wisconsin Dells the weekend of March 6-7. The team took 4th place at the tournament and several wrestlers placed in the top four individually.
"Lots of memories were made for these wrestlers that will make them who they are in the future. We are very proud of these kids and would love nothing more than for this program to continue to grow in numbers," said Barry Hines, wrestling club board member.
Wrestlers that participated in the tournament are: Ray Pember, Bryce Shepard, Ben Helminski, Luke Pember, Bailey Casey, Aaron Howard, Aidan Aure, Easton Anderson, Logan Peterson, Jake Anderson, Liam Asher, Kenny Heim, Wes Miller, Reece Birt, Gabe Henderson, Carter Goodman, Clayton Helmueller, Tyson Peterson, Nolan Weiker, and Calin Howard.
"These wrestlers not only represented as individual wrestlers but as a team. We are Mustang Proud," Hines said. "The board would like to give a big shout out to all coaches, parents, teachers and fans cheering on our next generation of Menomonie Mustang wrestlers."
