The Menomonie Theater Guild has announced it's summer programming.
Honk! JR. - MTG’s 2021 Summer Musical Theater Camp
Campers will rehearse and perform the charming musical, Honk! JR. Honk! JR. is a heartwarming celebration of being different that is sure to delight audiences of all ages with its sparkling wit, unique charm and memorable score. Witty and hilarious, but also deeply moving, Honk! JR. will treat audiences to equal amounts of laughter and tears, with its lesson on acceptance.
This musical theater camp will be held July 19th through August 5th, Monday through Thursday 9am-4pm. Dress rehearsal and performances will be August 6th-8th.
Camp is open to children entering 1st through 10th grades. Campers will learn through engaging theater games while developing vocal and physical theater skills and techniques. Dunn County Health Department Covid-19 precautions will be in place. The safety of campers and the community is a priority for MTG.
Registration will be limited to allow for more stage time and more personal attention. Registration opens April 27th at 10am and will only be available online. The link to register can be found here.
The cost of the three week camp is $245 with a $25 deposit due at registration and the balance due on the first day of class. Limited scholarships are available. Please contact MTG for more information. Honk! Jr. will be directed by Katie Talberg and is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI).
MTG’s Star Potential Showcase
Students will work on two Broadway songs at four vocal lessons scheduled over two weeks. Songs will be performed for family and friends at the Wilson Park Bandshell in the Star Potential Showcase on June 25th.
This program is open to students entering 5th through 10th grade. Lessons will be scheduled between June 14th and June 25th (two lessons per week), Monday through Thursday between 9am-4pm.
The cost is $75 with a $25 deposit due at registration. Registration opens online on April 13th at 10:00 am. Registration can be found here. Enrollment is limited. A minimum of 15 students will be needed to run the camp.
A Youth Summer Improv Workshop will also be offered this summer with more information coming soon.
