Menomonie Hires New Football Coach

On Monday, April 12, 2021, the School District of the Menomonie Area Board of Education approved the hire of Mike Sinz as a special education teacher and the next head football coach at Menomonie High School.

Sinz's career includes 13 years of teaching special education and 16 years of coaching football in Eau Claire, Mondovi, and Menomonie. Sinz is currently in his fourth season as the head football coach at Eau Claire Memorial High School, after serving eight years as the head coach in Mondovi and one year as an assistant coach in Menomonie.

After graduation from Menomonie High School in 2001, Sinz earned his bachelor's degree (Kinesiology) from UW Eau Claire in 2006, his bachelor's degree (Special Education) from UW Stout in 2009, and his master's degree in education from Viterbo University in 2014.

Sinz will be replacing his own high school football coach, Joe Labuda, who recently retired after leading the Mustangs to 5 state championships, 22 conference championships, and a state-best 31 consecutive playoff appearances.
