On Sunday, October 31, 2021 Officer Tyson Kahl was presented with a lifesaving award.
On October 12, 2019, Officer Kahl responded to an EMS call at a hotel. A patron was suffering from a heart attack, and when Officer Kahl arrived, he found the patron without a pulse. Officer Kahl began chest compressions and continued for 1-2 minutes by himself until paramedics arrived. Upon paramedic arrival, they administered two shocks via an AED and transported the patron to a hospital. The patron survived.
While Officer Kahl is very humble, it is clear that his decisive actions to administer life-saving chest compressions led to the preservation of the patron's life.
