Four from the MHS Swim & Dive team headed to state

The 2022 State Boys Swimming and Diving Championships are being held this weekend (February 18th and 19th) in Waukesha. Menomonie High School will be well represented as two divers and two swimmers qualified at the sectional held last Saturday in Menomonie.

In the diving events, Junior Dylan Norby took first place at sectionals and is heading into the championships with the top qualifying performance. Senior Dylan Foslid placed second behind Norby at sectionals and heads to state as the number three seed.

In the swimming events, Senior Kevin Leach will be completing in two events, the 500-yard freestyle and the 200-yard freestyle. He placed first and second respectively in those events at sectionals. Sophomore Kody Kazmarek will be competing in the 200-yard individual medley, in which he placed sixth at sectionals.

All four of these young men competed at the state championships last year. Leach is closing out his impressive swimming career at MHS with a fourth consecutive trip to the state championships and two school records under his belt.

The Division 2 championships will be held on Friday, February 18th with the diving events taking place at 1:30 pm and the swimming events at 5:30 pm. Check the Menomonie Minute for results.
