Finding Hope is a podcast produced by The Bridge to Hope. Each month a new episode is posted on a topic that pertains to their mission.
May is Mental Health Awareness Month. This months episode deals with mental health and sheds light on something so many, especially survivors, go through. In this episode hosts Alyssa and Coltra talk to Gary Johnson, a former board member and mental health professional. Gary breaks down what mental health is and how stressors in our life impact it. He also shares some analogies.
Alyssa and Coltra are both advocates who work at The Bridge to Hope. Alyssa is the Family & Youth advocate, Coltra is the Legal Advocate, and they both love what they do. Their work is hard but, they believe that talking about these issues helps bring us a step closer to ending the problems. By being more aware of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking, people in the community are better able to act and help out when they see something that isn’t right.
