Community Updates for January 22

A Shopko Optical will be opening next to Caribou Coffee on Oak Avenue.

If you are looking for more information about the candidates for State Superintendent, check out this article from the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. It has links to all of the candidate's websites. There are seven candidates running and at the primary you will be voting for one candidate.

Christ Lutheran Church will be hosting a "Souper Bowl" on Sunday, February 7th from 10:15 am to 10:45 am. CLC Youth will be in the Christ Lutheran Church parking lot to collect canned soup and monetary donations. All donations will be given to Menomonie are food pantries. More information here.

The Dunn County Historical Society's "Quilts of the Pinery 2021" has been cancelled.

The associated Quilts of the Pinery Quilt raffle will still be held. More information and a picture of the quilt can be found here. Tickets are $5 each, or five for $20 and are available at the Rassbach Museum during museum hours, or from any board members. You do not need to be present to win. The drawing will be at noon on May 1, 2021.

The Sportsman's Club will be sponsoring an ice fishing contest on Sunday, February 28th from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Check the Facebook event page for more information.

Markquart Motors is sponsoring a flag mural competition for high school and college students. The winner gets a $5000 scholarship. Entries are due by January 31. More information can be found here.
