Community Update - 4/2

An organization out of Bloomer, BD Angel Packs, is collecting new and gently used suitcases, duffel bags and backpacks for area foster children. Wisconsin Foster Closet, located in Menomonie, and Eau Claire Lutheran Social Services will be the recipients of these bags. There is no local collection site, however if you would like to donate, leave a comment in the Contact Us section and I will make arrangements to get your donation. Items will be accepted until April 17th.

The Menomonie Recreation Department is still looking for lifeguards to work at Wakanda Waterpark this summer. An American Red Cross Lifeguard Training Course is being offered in Eau Claire. More information about registering for the course can be found on the Rec. Dept. Facebook page or by calling them at 715-232-1664.

Health Dunn Right is a community health coalition made up of local non-profits, UW-Stout, local health care facilities, the Dunn County Health Department and community members. They have put together a wonderful Community Resource Guide for Dunn County. You can find it here.

The Dunn County Partnership for Youth is a county wide initiative that addresses the needs of the community in the areas of community policies, parenting needs, mental health awareness, and youth empowerment. They work to develop programming to serve youth and families. They offer a number of classes throughout the year and have a fantastic Facebook page and website that I would encourage you to check out.
